George Nordhaus – Chairman

George is a legend in the insurance community, with over 40 years of “hands on” experience. Mr. Nordhaus is the former EVP of the Insurors of Tennessee and the Indiana Association of Insurance Agents. George also formed an insurance education publishing firm, Insurors Press.

Located in Los Angeles, Insurors Press became the publisher for the IIABA (Independent Insurance Agents’ Association), and published examination manuals for licensing in twenty-five states. It became the number-one provider of insurance newsletters for agencies and eventually rebranded as Insurance Marketing and Management Services.

IMMS not only expanded heavily into marketing activities, but also published eight books and manuals on marketing, written by Mr. Nordhaus. IMMS remains the largest repository of marketing and management information on the Web for insurance agencies.

In his years of working with the insurance industry, George has produced literally hundreds of seminars and conferences on marketing and management. As a convention speaker, he has appeared over 2,000 times, with appearances in every U.S. state, most Canadian provinces, and in Europe. His articles have appeared in every major insurance trade press publication.

In 1992, he became the youngest non-British Name at Lloyds of London, and later became Chairman of the Lloyds Members Association for Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico.

The Boston Insurance Board named George “Insurance Person of the Year”. He was also given the Golden Torch Award, annually presented to the outstanding communicator in the insurance industry.

Val Jordan - President

Val’s experience spans over thirty years in the insurance industry. Starting her career with two insurance carriers as Head of Marketing and Advertising, she went on to establish Jordan & Jordan Associates in 1990. J&J is a financial services management consulting firm specializing in designing, developing, delivering, and implementing full service insurance programs to the financial institution marketplace.

From Chase Manhattan to one-branch community banks, Jordan & Jordan has been instrumental in the establishment of joint–venture, third–party, and “de novo” bank agency arrangements. J&J’s programs focus on the fulfillment of customer needs utilizing life, annuities, property/casualty, and specialty products. They incorporate both face–to–face and non–rep methods including Internet, call-centers, direct response, ATM’s, and kiosks.

Prior to rejoining her firm in 2007, Val served as SVP and Director of Operations for The South Financial Wealth Management Group where she managed eight operating areas – Trust, Private Banking, Brokerage, a title company, a 40l(k) company, a financial planning firm, and three full service property/casualty agencies.  While managing over 90 people in the insurance agencies, she developed and deployed many of the communication and marketing solutions that are incorporated into the AO model.

Val has been published in Broker World, Financial Planning Magazine, Life Insurance Selling, National Underwriter, Best Review, and Bank Insurance Marketing. She is frequently quoted in American Banker, and has formally presented at numerous conventions including LCA, IAFP, ABI, and FIIA (BISA).

Richard Wolff – Vice President – Business Development

Richard has over 25 years experience in the creation of materials to support insurance professionals. He was a founding partner of Vernon Publishing, a firm focusing on productivity tools supporting the sale of life insurance. He later joined Dearborn Publishing where he was the general manager of one of their most respected pisions, which focused on software and publications for the sale of broad financial and insurance products. Innovative and proactive, he led the initiative for the industry’s first point-of-sale software program, Financial Need Analysis.

Mr. Wolff also worked for Financial Profiles where he led the creative team in the development of Financial Compass, which significantly enhanced the product offering of the company. Later he headed the client relations department working as a liaison between client companies and internal resources. This led to being a key driver of the strategic direction of the company and its new product direction. He later went on to head the business development organization of the Financial Guidance pision of Scivantage, a premier provider of wealth management and insurance solutions.
